about me - Download my CV

My name is Ben Steer and i am a web/graphic designer based in Coventry, UK. For the past 9 years i have immersed myself in the world of both web and graphic design, this all started for me in the year 2000 when i enrolled on a multimedia and computing degree at Coventry University as well as working for DP design, a Coventry based graphic design studio whose clients included Jaguar. I soon had the bug for design and have continued to create work for both print and online media. After completing both my 3 year degree at Coventry University and work experience with DP design i was asked by Coventry University to stay on as a part-time lecturer which i grasped with both hands.

I stayed on at Coventry University for one year where i gained valuable teaching experience and completed a number of adult learning courses to help develop my skills as a teacher/lecturer and to become a better communicator. After that year i was lucky enough to find my next and current job at Warwick University working at AdsFab, an advertising agency who focus on the higher education sector. This is where i am able to put my paper based design skills into practice working with applications such as Quark Xpress, Indesign and Photoshop.

As well as working full-time at AdsFab i was able to keep up with lecturing, in the past i have taught modules in Multimedia Web Scripting, Photoshop and Javascript all at Coventry Universitys School of Lifelong Learning. I also work with the English Heritage and Herbert Art Gallery on short-term projects based around multimedia, working primarily with younger students of 18 years and younger. See my portfolio of work for projects undertaken with English Heritage and local Youth Centres.
